The Gmail promotion tab is loved by the users of Gmail but hated by you and advertisers. This is where Google places emails categorized as commercial, promotional, or marketing, just above Spam.
Google has five basic tabs or folders:
Primary tab - where personal emails and known recipients are placed.
Promotions tab - for promotional and marketing emails.
Social tab - where notifications for social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
Updates tab - where email confirmations are placed, such as an order.
Forums tab - a folder for email notifications and messages from popular forum sites.
Users can turn off their promotions tab if they wish. Avoiding the promotions tab is crucial because it affects the following:
Email deliverability
Open rate and read rate
Number of conversions and revenue
How do you avoid this tab/folder?
We have an email in your account under 'messages' and 'canned replies' that you can send to patients as a drip, blast, or individual message with instructions for your patient.
If your emails are in the promotions tab, they are instructed to move them to their primary inbox or add your office email as a contact. Either method will solve this promotions tab, and now your emails will be opened, read, and engaged at a higher rate.
Here are where the emails are found:
If you are sending a canned reply, it will be in the 'General' category. If you send a blast/drip message, you will find this email in the 'Announcements' folder.
Good luck
