How do I use TrackStat to manage PI (personal injury or auto accident) cases?

One option is to use the PI Card (found in the following places in TrackStat:

  • Patient Search

  • Appointment Report

  • Weekly Patients

  • Patient Management report

Updating the fields in the PI Card will create tags. Then it is easy to use the tags to filter your reports to identify patients with or without specific tags. Check out the options in the following sections of the PI Card:

  • PI Management (for tracking important information about the case including liens and medical records and whether the patient has Med Pay or PIP)

  • Outside Services (for tracking X-rays, MRIs, DMEs, CTs and treatments with other providers)

  • Case management (for tracking internal case status)

For example: you can assign a Case Status in the Case management section of the PI card such as "billed". Patient will be assigned a tag automatically. Then you can identify all patients with or without the corresponding tag.

You can also create your own custom tags to identify various stages of PI cases and filter reports using the tags. Tags can be added or removed as PI cases reach different stages.

The Patient Notes section can be used to keep track of the case details. Just remember to date and initial the note and always put the newest note at the top for easy viewing. The Patient Notes are visible on most of the reports.

Depending on which report you prefer for managing your PI cases, you can assign a Follow Up Date to the patient. Then sort the report by Follow Up Date to see which case is due for follow up. Note: Follow Up Dates are unique to each report.
