How to Configure Your Web Browser and Windows Settings to Receive TrackStat Notifications and Always See the Latest Version (Web App Only)

Introduction

Your web browser and operating system settings must be configured correctly to receive real-time notifications when a new message arrives in your TrackStat Inbox and to ensure you always see the latest version of the TrackStat web app (including important pop-up alerts for updates).

Browser notifications are essential for staying updated. This article applies only to the TrackStat web-based app (not the TrackStat mobile app).

We strongly recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, our preferred browser for the best TrackStat experience. These instructions reflect the current Google Chrome interface (as of 2026) and Windows 11 settings. Repeat these steps on every computer or workstation that accesses TrackStat.

1. Ensure You Have the Latest Version of Google Chrome

Keeping Chrome updated is critical for security, performance, and compatibility with TrackStat features like notifications and pop-ups.

Steps to check for and install the latest Chrome update:

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner.

  3. Select HelpAbout Google Chrome.

  4. Chrome will automatically check for updates and download them if available.

  5. If an update is found, click Relaunch to apply it.

Chrome updates automatically in the background, but manually checking ensures you have the most recent version.

2. Enable Notifications and Pop-ups in Google Chrome for TrackStat

Browser site settings control whether TrackStat can show notifications (new message alerts in the lower-right corner) and pop-ups (important TrackStat version/update alerts).

Steps (recommended quick method – while on the TrackStat site):

  1. Log in to TrackStat in Chrome (ensure you are on app.trackstat.org).

  2. Click the View site information icon (tune/sliders or lock icon) in the address bar, to the left of the URL.

  3. Click Site settings.

  4. Scroll to Notifications and set it to Allow.

  5. Scroll to Pop-ups and redirects and set it to Allow.

  6. Close the settings tab, return to the TrackStat tab, and click the Reload button (critical step).

Alternative global method:

  1. In Chrome, click the three dots → SettingsPrivacy and securitySite settings.

  2. Click Notifications → Under “Allowed to send notifications,” click Add and enter app.trackstat.org.

  3. Click Pop-ups and redirects → Under “Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects,” click Add and enter app.trackstat.org.

3. Configure Windows Notifications Settings (for PC/Laptop)

Even if Chrome is allowed to show notifications, Windows must also permit the browser to display them.

Steps:

  1. Click the Start button and open Settings (or press Windows key + I).

  2. Select SystemNotifications.

  3. Turn the main Notifications toggle to On.

  4. Scroll down to Notifications from apps and other senders.

  5. Find Google Chrome and ensure its toggle is On.

  6. Click Google Chrome in the list and confirm Show notification banners and Show notifications in notification center are enabled.

  7. Go back to the main Notifications page and ensure Focus assist (or Do Not Disturb) is set to Off or Priority only (and customize the priority list if needed to include Chrome).

Note: These are operating system settings (separate from browser settings). Browser settings control what TrackStat is allowed to send; Windows settings control whether your computer displays them.

4. Best Practices for Staying Informed of Messages and Updates

  • Enable both notifications and pop-ups in Chrome for TrackStat (as shown above).

  • Keep Chrome updated to the latest version.

  • Use the TrackStat mobile app as a convenient alternative for real-time message monitoring when away from your desk.

5. How to Turn Off Notifications (While Still Receiving TrackStat Updates)

If you want to stop new message pop-ups but continue receiving TrackStat version/update alerts:

  1. On the TrackStat site, click the View site information icon next to the URL.

  2. Click Site settings.

  3. Set Notifications to Block (or slide to Off).

  4. Keep Pop-ups and redirects set to Allow.

  5. Click Reload button on the TrackStat tab (critical step).

Important: Always be logged into TrackStat when making these changes.

6. Troubleshooting

How to do a Hard Refresh (Bypass Cache) in Your Web Browser Can’t see the latest updates or features in TrackStat? Something not displaying correctly? A hard refresh clears your browser’s cache and forces it to load the freshest version of TrackStat while keeping you logged in.

Quick Hard Refresh Shortcuts:

  • Windows / Chrome: Press Ctrl + F5

  • Mac / Chrome or Safari: Press Command + Shift + R

  • iPad / Safari: Press Option + Command + R or tap and hold the reload icon, then tap Shift + Reload

Alternative method:

  1. While logged into TrackStat, right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect.

  2. In the Developer Tools panel that opens, right-click the curved reload arrow in the top-left corner.

  3. Select Empty Cache and Hard Reload.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps if Notifications or Updates Are Still Not Working:

  1. Clear Cache and Cookies in Chrome

    • Click the three dots → HistoryClear browsing data.

    • Select All time.

    • Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

    • Click Clear data, then reload TrackStat.

  2. Check Antivirus/Firewall Software – Add app.trackstat.org to the allowed list.

  3. Try Incognito Mode – Open TrackStat in an Incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + N) to test if an extension is interfering.

  4. Chrome Extensions – Click the puzzle icon → three dots next to any extension → Options → add app.trackstat.org to allowed sites if needed.

  5. Restart Your Computer – Many setting changes require a full restart to take effect.
